Authors' Duties

Elicit Publishing Limited is dedicated to fostering innovation and transforming latent knowledge into explicit insights. In alignment with this mission, authors must adhere to the following ethical guidelines to ensure the integrity, originality, and transparency of their contributions:

1. Honesty

Authors are required to present their research findings, methodologies, and conclusions with the utmost accuracy and integrity. This includes avoiding fabrication, falsification, or omission of critical data. Any limitations or uncertainties inherent in the research must be disclosed to ensure a balanced and honest representation of the study.

2. Originality

Submissions must be entirely original and unpublished elsewhere. Authors are expected to properly credit all referenced works and prior research, avoiding any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism. Practices such as salami slicing—splitting a single study into multiple publications—are strictly discouraged, as they dilute the value of scholarly contributions.

3. Transparency

Authors must openly disclose:

  • Conflicts of Interest: Any financial or personal relationships that could influence the research.

  • Funding Sources and Affiliations: All sources of funding and institutional affiliations must be clearly stated.

  • Data and Materials: Whenever possible, authors should share data and materials to facilitate replication and review.
Additionally, the methodology should be presented with precision and detail, ensuring the research is transparent and reproducible.

4. Manuscript Authorship

Authorship should accurately reflect the contributions to the research:

  • Only individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study should be listed as authors.

  • All co-authors must review, agree upon the final manuscript, and consent to their inclusion as co-authors.

  • Authors bear the responsibility of ensuring that contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship are acknowledged appropriately, without being designated as authors.

5. Addressing Errors in Published Works

If an author identifies a significant error or inaccuracy in their manuscript—whether during submission, peer review, or post-publication—they are obligated to immediately notify the editor. The author must cooperate fully in correcting the issue, whether through a retraction, correction notice, or other appropriate measures. By upholding these standards, authors contribute to Elicit Publishing Limited’s mission of advancing knowledge and fostering scholarly excellence.
